MUFG Private Bank

As part of a collaborative team that included architect Neil Denari, I served as the art director for the design of a private banking office in Nagoya for MUFG Private Bank. Our goal was to seamlessly blend traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern design elements. Inspired by the refined and understated qualities of traditional lacquered bowls, we crafted a black metal panel façade with a subtle reflective quality. We chose black as a dominant color to convey a sense of seriousness, stability, and reliability, essential attributes for a financial institution. Our aim was to create a space that exudes elegance and simplicity, while also projecting a sense of trustworthiness to clients. The result was a successful project that combined beauty and function in a way that reflected the MUFG Private Bank's brand identity.
